This is my second short row scarf.

When this one is done I am moving on and upgrading my skills to knitting on a circular needles....another learning curve to make me a more confident knitter.

Tubac Golf and Spa Resort

Tubac Golf Resort & Spa is the most luxurious and tranquil vacation destination in the Southwest. Set on the historic 500-acre Otero Ranch in the Santa Cruz River Valley, the Spanish Colonial architecture and lush grounds are enhanced by magnificent views of the Tumacacori and Santa Rita mountain peaks. Once owned by Bing Crosby and hosts to many older movie stars.. The movie "Tin Cup" was filmed here....these are a few of my photos of our good time away.

The Art @ Tubac...

I hope you enjoy seeing the Art of Tubac thru my lens today..colorful
and lots of fun! This first piece is for Cindy and Caroline..Don Swanson pottery..Cindy has quite a few pieces of his..but alas at $300.00....this one stayed on the shelf..but what a beauty!




Bright and cheerful metal sculptures everywhere...












This interesting piece of tile work was made by the same lady who owned the tile store In Bouquete, Panama..no wonder her work looked so familiar..I have a piece from that store! A very good day was had by all!

Tubac Art Festival

Today we are headed to the 53rd Tubac Art Festival.

175 juried artists from around the country will be on hand exhibiting their works. Festival booths will line Tubac’s streets as they are juxtaposed with more than 100 unique shops, galleries and working artists’ studios. Free horse-drawn trolleys, diverse entertainment and fine festival foods round out the experience. Admission is free, parking is $6 per car. Parking revenue benefits local organizations....good idea!

My camera has a fully charged battery as well as a spare...we are staying overnight at the Tubac Golf and Spa and playing 18 holes on Monday..with 3 other couples and a great weather forecast, we should have a great time!

This is where we will be staying...we are looking forward just seeing all the crafts the festival is famous for..I promise to take lots of photos to share.

Latitude & Longitude...

Having fun with all the shells and sand I have collected on our travels...recycle and re-use.

I got all the longitudes and latitudes of the where we found the shells,

ripped an old blank page from a book and printed on it.

I aged the tags with an ink pad and wiped it off

until I got the color I wanted..

glued them on, added bakers twine and a shell..

This is a very special sand dollar..

When we were in Panama we were invited over to see this amazing condo just down on

the beach from us.

I commented on my love for shells when I saw this 

sand dollar on Barb's counter in a lovely bowl.

Next thing I knew..it was mine.. thanks so much Barb and Tim,

we will see you in Kelowna.

I found that I had a small canvas, a map of South America,

which included Panama and my

idea for this display was born.

Thinking of Spring

A little bit of spring in my craft room.

Get a small canvas,...cut out  & glue 2  fabric birds, a felt heart {add a little embroidery},

 color in some scallops on the top..outline with ink...

have fun..make it yours..

Headboards

I saw this headboard on the BHG website..how easy would this be to make?
When Cindy and I were at the Farm Chicks Show last year...we each bought an old linen grain sack...I think we both are using them on our ottomans or coffee table...if you had a King sized bed..you could buy linen, painters tape and create your own stripes for this look....this might be a project in my future...

Being Retired...and not just tired..

We are so blessed...being healthy, happy and retired..we all have 24 hours in our day..we all have different demands on our days and choices we make on how to spend those 24 hours...I believe that being retired gives you more choices on what you spend your time on...for me it is my family, friends and my crafting time...reading in all the formats available to me..Here are a few ways I keep busy...my magazines that I buy or subscribe to as well as my Kindle..either buy or download books from our library in the Okanagan or here from the library in Apache Junction..these books are currently on my kindle..another birthday gift last summer..it was a good year❤

Love for color continues...

Ever since I found design-seeds.com..I have been hooked trying to figure out to how recreate some of my photos, as well as picking colors from the photo to make them in a similiar design....with the help of my trusty side kick and dear friend Christa,...she figured it out, skyped me..walked me thru Picasa, Picnik, Flickr....and I showed her the eyedropper and how it relates to capturing these colors in this format.

World Cancer Day

Today is World Cancer Day...let's celebrate all the Survivors and remember all those we have lost!
Happy to report that Harry is making wonderful progress.

Crazy for Color

If you read my blog..you know how much I love color..it just makes me so happy...I think color does that for me...Here are a few color palattes from Design Seeds..I just downloaded their book...the photography and color combinations are amazing..see for yourself Here

Back home to AZ..

I really like to hang our clothes outside after doing the laundry..this is one of my favorite ways to dry them..just hanging in the breeze from our trees...as we have an enclosed garden...no one gets to see my dresses dancing in the breeze...

The cacti are growing really well...the light was just right as I shot this cactus and ice plant

Goodbye Panama

The drive to the airport..with all the building in view...this Iconic Revolution tower will be open this year...what an engineering feat.
