"C" stands for Color..

Cindy and I had a very fun and colorful day as you can see from these photos!
All taken at Pier 1. All the bright colors matched our sunny mood all day with lovely thrift shop finds.
Cindy heads back this morning and I work in the afternoon but the happy time we shared is in the "memory bank".

My new cubbies...loaded :)

Over the past 2 days, Jim has been building me new cubbies to store my "loot"
craft supplies in....necessary to lead a fulfilled life in my neck of the woods..
He is a marvel at making me exactly what I want..
The cubbies on the left have been there for several years and today I did a bit of editing..still some more needed as I see some empty shelves that might get filled with be some fabric..

I can easily see what I have and which projects I can work on at any given time..Here are a few photos of the cubbies filled with some of my pottery taken from another room that I
don't spend as much time in...so I might as well enjoy them in here.

The above photo is my desk area with my computer, a couple of printers, my scrap booking as well as my space to make some jewelery, journal as well and upholster that bench you see in the background!

My stamps all lined up neatly on a shelf Jim built for me..I know, I am very very lucky to have a husband that likes to build..his motto is " A happy wife makes a happy life"..it been working for 22 years so no use changing that...eh?
Thanks sweetheart for building all of this for me!

My sewing table and behind this and not pictured is my new cutting table built last fall.

So there you have it...my wonderful craft room..
As Suzanne of Meridian Road said to me..this could be the world headquarters of...
....Studio Dagmar..Inc..
Now I just have to go and craft something.
Thanks for that!

UBe...

Jim and and I offered to look after UBe {as in you be good} for our friends while they went away for 2 weeks. We have only had large dogs in our lives and this has been very entertaining...She wants to sit in my lap all the time..how do you crochet and knit and craft with a little lap dog?..but she misses her Mom and Dad so we reassure her the best way we can..she is really a very sweet little 14 year old dog...the black thing I am holding is my IPad..even blogging with a lapdog adds a new element of interest! :)

DIY Shrug..easy peasy!

Find a small crocheted baby blanket at a thrift store measuring approximately 36x28 or so..fold long sides in half..crochet edges up about 4-6". {I did 18 sc}...put on shoulders and admire yourself for being so thrifty, crafty and clever...cost $2.00!

fold in half..crochet up about 4-6 "on right and left hand sides from bottom to where the arm holes will.

I added a bobble shell edge from Lucy at Attic24 around the front half of the shrug HERE

No other model was available...so it had to be me...hope this gives you a good idea of my very first tutorial..I love re-cycling something.....imagine some sweet lady made this probably for
a baby.... and now I have this lovely little shrug to wear..oh, this made me so happy.I went on to Skype right after I finished it and did a show and tell with my dear friend Christa..she is always so good about being there for me and giving me her honest opinion....and honestly..she is the best...she always loves what I make..what a wonderful friend...eh?

The back..has a lovely large granny square on it..perfect for this newly minted "Oma"

The prompt for this week was feminine... I love everything pink..I try to keep that color to my clothes or in my crafting and my craft room...these are close ups of two very feminine pillows.

For the love of Moss and Rocks!

Cindy brought me some moss that grows on the rocks on her back 10 acres...I love how it looks around the ferns and the coleus..adds color and texture as well as retaining the moisture in the plants...it feels like spring when you can be outside planting....oh I mean it is spring.! :}. thank you my Cindy!

Friends....

Shirley and I have been friends since we met on a backcountry ski trip in 1985.. she is one of 7 kids..so am I....
she has an only child..Andre, a few years younger than my only child, Jeremy...as the years rolled on we always stayed in touch and saw each other several times a year..she followed her dream to live aboard a wonderful 1912 wooden Queenship boat.....she is the most active and fit women I know..she is kind, loving, and compassionate...she is a wonderful Doctor.... now she will join that special group of women when her son and daughter-in-law have their first child in June...grandmother- hood....{ a new word created just for this purpose}...this grandbaby will just continue to strengthen our enduring friendship. Just imagine what the next 26 years will have in-store for us and the memories we will share.

Thing seen in Frosso's neighborhood.....

Heading back home to Westbank this morning..but I sure had a wonderful time with Frosso..Shirley came over for dinner as Frosso wowed us yet again with her Cypriot lemon chicken..Thanks Frosso for the wonderful time that I was able to share with you.

Frosso and I walked over to see our favorite thrift store..These are some of the things we saw while we walked in her neighborhood. The lilacs are starting to bloom, the sun was pretending to shine but afternoon it stayed over cast! A good day was had and we found and maybe bought a few treasures.

I will be home soon Jimmy! :)

Enjoying my time with Frosso.

Frosso and I have been friends since 1978...she lives in such a beautiful row home in one of the oldest parts of Vancouver.....Strathcona. I always feel so welcome here..sort of like having my own great place in the city to come for a visit. Our usual pastime is a walk downtown to these obscure and trendy little stores in her part of the "hood." Yesterday we went and bought a few more colors of wool at this amazing old store....New flowers will be flying off the crochet hook. Soon I will able enough to make that shawl.

Here she is knitting and relaxing..Her little dog Sasha is 16, deaf and she can't see very well What a good little SPCA rescue dog she has been for Frosso.

It is supposed to be a sunny day tomorrow..maybe spring will soon be here! :)

Claire..my heart, my joy....

Claire modeling the little garden cloche hat I made for her..a
little big for her at the moment but she will grow into it.

Just having a wonderful Mother's Day with Mommy and Daddy.

Oma reading Claire a good night story..She as very interested in helping turn the pages.

The perfect Mother's Day gift...time with Jeremy, Julie and Claire.

Grand Mother's Day

I was so touched by this loving gesture that Jim did for me...Flowers from the grandchildren for "Oma's" Day! Before we had grandchildren we had dogs..and every year they would buy me flowers and leave a card..I still have all the cards...Jim was away for a couple of days seeing his 97 year old Mom in a nursing home...when he came home he gave me this sweet bouquet from Alexander and Claire. How truly thoughtful he is!
