The true start of summer...

It was hot and sunny yesterday, 36 degrees...time spent at the beach in the shade was well worth it...a wonderful way to spend the day, having a picnic at the beach. I even went into the coolish water 3 times to cool off!

Doilie sachet...

Thrifted doilies are an easy find..trying to find 2 alike a bit more of a challenge...make a small pillow with some lavender and batting that is just a bit smaller than the doilies..pin the doilies together, slipping the pillow in between them and crochet around the edge..works well as a sachet or a pin cushion..do you have a few marched doilies laying around.❤

Bundles of Lavender...

Cutting, tying up in small bundles and drying all this lavender fills the house with a wonderful fresh scent..they will be all turned into scented sachets.

Finally...some sunshine...

The roses and the lavender have just burst open with a day or so of sun...does this mean that the summer sunshine might finally be here?

First lavender.....

Today I cut the first of my lavender..the fragrance fills the living room with the scent of summer...this little horse hair nest was a gift from mother about 20 years...it is such a sweet reminder of her love and kindness..I miss her everyday.

Lavender

As we get ready to leave AZ. and head back to BC..my mind wanders to my garden back home. I grow alot of lavender all summer long..I love the sweet fragrance of it when you brush your hands thru the bushes...how well it dries and continues to smell so wonderful thru out the season.❤ Combined with my vintage garden tools, I think it makes a wonderful summertime display!
