Plans for this week...

We move on Sunday to our new condo for

one month.

We always find it is good to rent something for a month,

then look around and see what else is in the area

in case you want a change or we want to stay longer.

The new Amari Residences meets that need for us.

We will be able to use all the hotel facilities,

including the amazing

"Shoreline Beach Club"

their restaurants, pools and spa.

The residences have their own large

private pool as well.

On Tuesday, we are out to a sandy beach restaurant with our

new Aussie friends and their two young boys.

We looked after the boys the other night so their parents could have a couple hours out.

On Wednesday we are heading up to Kanchanaburi overnight

with your Peachland friends,

Sharon and Graham

to see the River Kwai.

Oh, how we are looking forward to that, as we saw where the movie was

filmed while we were in Sri Lanka.

If you get a chance, watch the

"Railway Man"

with Colin Firth & Nicole Kidman.

They filmed the movie in and near Kanchanaburi where we are heading to.

Then we have been invited by a lovely couple of English ladies we

met to have lunch with them at Black Mountain Golf Course.

We are happy to go back and enjoy the scenery

as well as another wonderful lunch.

How very lucky we are to have met just some of the nicest

people to share our amazing fabulous time here in

Hua Hin, Thailand.

Foliage and flowers,

The gardeners are always trimming leaves,

flowers and branches.

Some are just too lovely to throw away.

I have some on our table,

providing a lovely pop of colour every morning with our coffee.

I will have to find some new ones today to fill my

vase.

The food we enjoy...

Thailand is known for its wonderful food.

I am trying to eat lots of different

food I have never tasted before.

Each day when we are out for lunch or supper,

I try and find something new.

Let me tell you, it's not a hardship.

As Jim doesn't do seafood or fish, this is a wonderful

holiday for both of us.

There is so much variety both our palates tummies are easily satisfied.

Lunch at Black Mtn Golf course...

It was very kind of Steve and Heather to drive us

up to the Black Mtn Golf Course

so that Jim could see what it looked like.

The setting in the mountains was beautiful. We enjoyed a lovely breeze

while having our lunch.

The food was really good, they even had

North American food on the menu.

The golf course and the restaurant were very busy and we even saw

Thongchai Jaidee,

the Thai golfer who plays on the European as well as on the PGA tour.

You need to take a caddy and they are all these small

Thai women.

It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

These two photos are from Website.

An Excellent Adventure...

We had a wonderful day exploring

a part of Thailand south of us with our friends.

We took the local orange bus to Pranburi where they picked us

up in their car.

They drove us around to some interesting places such as the

Waghor Aquarium.

We drove the scenic coastal road, crossed an airfield,

went thru Khao Sam Roi Yat National Park.

Khao Sam Roi Yat National Park is a marine national park in Sam Roi Yot district,

Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Thailand.

It covers 98.08 km², of which 20.88 km² are marine areas. The park was established in 1966, and was the first coastal national park of Thailand.

We had lunch on the beautiful sandy Ao Manao beach

where we enjoyed some spicy and delicious Thai

food served under the shade of salt pine trees and vintage

umbrellas.

It made us love this place even more.

Thanks Sharon and Graham for sharing a part of Thailand

that you have grown to love so much.

Happy 6th birthday Alexander in Australia!

A walk on the beach....

The tide was out quite a long way late in the afternoon.

Time to head out and go

for a nice long walk.

We usually head north from our condo but

yesterday we decided to head south.

In this direction there are fewer big resorts,

mainly Thai owned condos that aren't rented.

We saw a women dredge for clams, she had quite a bag full.

The red jelly fish is full of venom,

you really don't want to get stung by this creature.

A new iPad Pro Cover

Finally, a cover to protect my new IPad Pro.

Before we left for Thailand,

Apple didn't have any accessories for the new Pro.

I had to order one from China and thankfully

I received here in Thailand on Friday.

I will still order a decal skin for it and use this protective

cover for when we travel.

These are a few of the decal skins I am considering.

Just walking around...

Just after dropping our laundry off,

we decided to walk down some of the side streets

we have not been to before.

I love seeing how the real Thai people live.

Some live in nice homes with clean yards,

other are filled with everyday junk that somehow accumulates.

Washing hanging out in an empty lot, fish frying on the sidewalk,

a handmade play pen,

some ornate gates, flowers sold at a street stall.

The simple pleasure of enjoying a pineapple smoothie.

Here are a few of the sights that we saw today.

The highlight was seeing the monks come to our condo to

lead prayers on New Years Day.
