Thrift Shop finds

This was the best find, a small wall hanging that was hand embroidered with the saying.
"Within every heart is a garden waiting to be tended."
A bargain @1.25

Obviously a good day to find things and all @ 50% off!!!

Charming old cake carrier to add to my metal tin collection.

These 2 plates are destined for a gift picnic basket.

I always need/want lace and buttons, who know where they will end up.
I also found Cindy 2 more plates for her collection.
So, as you can see, it was a good day.
I am only sorry that my buddy Cindy wasn't with me to help me find these tresures. She is coming for 4 days in September and then we will do some serious shopping.
Can't wait.!!!!

and work at your pattern — it will come out a rose by and by. Life is like that . . . one stitch at a time, taken patiently."

Happy Brithday, Caroline

Happy 5oth Caroline, you still are as totally sweet as you were in this Christmas photo.
I am so proud to have you as my younger sister, and your work as an artist!!!!

Our most basic instinct is not for survival but for family. Most of us would give our own life for the survival of a family member, yet we lead our daily life too often as if we take our family for granted.

Living Your Life....

I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But much as I want to believe that, and despite ' the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking. The world is so exquisite with so much love and depth, that there is no reason to deceive ourselves with pretty stories for which there's little good evidence. Far better it seems to me, in our vulnerability, is to look death in the eye and to be grateful every day for the brief but magnificent opportunity that life provides. —Carl Sagan

Lunch at The Terrace Resturant..

Having lunch with Jo-Ann today at Mission Hill's Terrace Restaurant.

Voted by Leisure Magazine as one of the 5 Top Winery Restaurants in the world. It was so lovely to sit down and be served such a wonderful, flavourful meal. Thank you Jo-Ann.

After all the trouble you go to, you get about as much actual "food" out of eating an artichoke as you would from licking 30 or 40 postage stamps.

Craft Room and weekend finds!!!

My clean craft room, everything in it's place.

On the side wall

Great little crocheted lap afghan. $2.00 find. And can you imagine, Jim says to me, and we need this WHY????? Does he not know by now that need has nothing to do with collecting?

Part of a collection for Cindy of Dudson and Heath Restaurant Ware..She plans to use this down at her beach Cabana.
What a find this was, all for $5.00. I am totally spoiling Cindy with these treasures and sparing no expense to do so!

Greg Sczebel's concert. That's Greg on the keyboard. It was a lovely evening with great music and really good wine. We will be going to the remaining 3 concerts, each one seems to be better than the last.

Seek out that particular mental attribute which makes you feel most deeply and vitally alive, along with which comes the inner voice which says, "This is the real me," and when you have found that attitude, follow it.

My brother Werner...

Last week I drove down to Penticton and had lunch with my brother Werner...he is a great guy, always living on the edge, and doing the things that he loves. He lives part time in Cabo, so we don't get to see each other too often, but he is great at keeping in touch...
Stay safe, Miss you.

3 Cedar's Lake House.

My sister Evelyne and her husband Richard built this log home for Harvey and AnnMarie in Nelson, BC. It has the perfect setting.

In the top of the highest tree,He said, "I pour out my heart in song
For the summer that soon shall be.
"But deep in the shady wood,
Another bird sang, "I pour my heart on the solemn solitude
For the springs that return no more."
