Happy Fathers Day...

To all the dads out there,

Happy Father's Day.

May your day be filled with phone calls, photos from the kids in your life...

your own or others.

May you be spoiled by the ones that love you.

Enjoying lunch out at Predator Ridge Golf Course.
Alexander in Australia with The ACT Brumbies.

Claire enjoying playing outside!

Alexander and grandad...

Alexander arrived with his parents from Calgary via Australia.

The beach was a wonderful way to spend

the entire afternoon.

Going with Grandad on the golf cart was almost as much fun.

Today I will be spending an hour

or so with him while Jim takes

Shane and Laurie on a tour to Mission Hill Winery.

Here are a few photos Alexander

helped me make on my IPad.

Alexander has arrived...

Alexander arrived in Calgary after

24 hours since he left

his home in Canberra, Austrailia.

He did amazing well on the trip and as you can see,

he is seriously catching up on his sleep and jet lag.

They will be here with us in West Kelowna on the 8th of July for a couple of weeks.

We have lots of fun things planned.

A busy summer planned...

Time to get out our calendars and plan the summer.

Making sure we leave

lots of empty days for impromptu country drives

and lakeside picnics.

Alexander is coming for a one month visit from Austrailia

with his Mom and Dad.

We will have them here in West Kelowna for about 4 days,

then on a road trip to

Vancouver, Victoria as well

as traveling by ferry thru the San Juan Islands.

We will get to know him again in the 10days they

spend with us.

It has been nearly 4 1/2 years since we saw him in Sri Lanka.

We checked out our local lakeside park

on our walk to send Alexander a photo

of the playground.

We are sure he will want to spend lots

of time down here.

Checking out some outdoor road toys..

We really have had time on our hands

over these past 3 weeks.

Without a craft room to play in, or a project to work on,

we have had time to check out some

interesting off road ATV's, or UTV's

Look at some of these cool toys.

Jim was in his element.

Alexander at the Australian Federal Police Open House

on a very cool boy toy!

He would of loved being with

his Grandad checking

out

these off road vehicles.

Claire and Alexander...

Claire loves getting mail.

I send her stickers, pretty papers,

little things that make her know I am thinking about

her while we are away.

Jeremy is great about taking photos and send them on

to us.

Later in the day we got to speak to Alexander.

He had a busy afternoon helping

decorate their home in Australia for

Christmas.

We love these photos that Shane sent.

Even a few minutes on Skype keeps us

to keep in touch.

Happy birthday to my brother Harry.

He is celebrating his 60th

birthday today!

Little Alexander...

This school term,

our little grandson

Alexander will be going into all day kindergarten in

Canberra, Austraila.

He will be 5 in Janauary.

We got a copy of his report card,

he is a handsome, bright, curious, kind and a helpful

little guy.

We get to see him on Skype most weekends

and his Aussie accent is

adorable.

Special birthday wishes go out today to my sweet sister

Evelyne in Cabo,

as well as my good friend Shannon celebrating her special day in

NYC

with her daughter, Andrea

Many, many happy days ahead.

A few photos that brought me joy...

I have spent a bit of time taking off some of

my photos from my IPad

to a different site to free up some room.

I had a lot of fun remembering where they were taken and the

joy these pictures gave me.

Lovely memories of just

ordinary and special moments in time.

21.4.14

Easter Chicks..

From sunny Victoria where Claire spent Easter,

to a cool Easter for Alexander in Australia,

our two grandchildren each had

a very good weekend.

10.2.14

The future...

Who can predict where the

future

leads our children and grandchildren?

Our wish is that they lead lives that are happy ones,

filled with love, joy, personal work satisfaction as well

good health and the

ability to travel and see the world.

Then our work as parents will be done and

rewarded in so many ways.

27.12.13

Our Grand Children's Christmas...

Alexnader in Australia,

Claire in Vancouver.

Christmas to us is all about seeing how much

fun the grand children had at

Christmas time.

As you can see, they had a wonderful

time.

Our gifts....

If you have love in your life, perhaps a few little people and hope for the future.... to me, these are such wonderful gifts..being grateful becomes easier and much more meaningful as I age.
