Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day

The Lilacs are finally opening...

It seems when the new foals on the

Bennett's Farm

are born, the lilacs edging their property start to bloom.

People stop to pet the foals and collect this old vintage variety of lilac

that smells so fragrant.

Here are a few that made it into my basket.

My moms lilac will be blooming here in our garden this week as well.

A day in the garden...

For the past several years, we have wanted to change the courtyard area

we had for our dogs Cookie and Pebbles.

We got "Wayne"

He came with a good pickup truck, all the tools he needed to get the job done.

Jim will level it all with sand and put in pavers.

I moved all the plants I wanted to keep into pots.

The courtyard will have pots on a watering system,

a few hanging baskets,

as well as a wall fountain.

My Mom's lilac has so many blooms on it this year.

It looks and smells amazing.

It was a very good day.

Such a sweet smell....

Just having even a few of these lilacs in a vase

fills the room with such a

beautiful fragrance.

Some may stay, some may go....

I snapped a few photos this morning of some of my treasures.

Some will stay, some were collected to sell.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

The first lilacs of the season.

Tea cups...

Apple Blossom Time...I love this set of tea cups that Jeremy's grandmother gave me when I got married to Jeremy's Dad, Peter..I still have the tea set and will be gifting it to Claire when she is old enough to enjoy it..filled with a few lilacs and set on an old fishing tackle box, I think is a lovely way to see them in a new light.❤

Roadside Lilacs...

Nothing says spring to me like lilacs...they grow amazing well here in the dry Okanagan climate...these were clipped from a large hedge bordering a horse farm..not sure what was sweeter..the smell of the lilacs or the new colts just running around..will need to go back and get photos of the foals.
