Having fun and helping out...

I am here for the weekend with Jeremy, Julie and Claire.

Julie had to go over to Victoria to see her

101-year-old grandmother who's going into palliative care.

Jeremy, Claire and I worked together, digging in the dirt and getting the pavers put in place.

They will be putting in a small container garden for

Claire to enjoy her vegetables and her strawberries.

Yesterday I went for a walk in their neighbourhood and collected some flowers.

I grabed the first vase that I could find and it's a handy Starbucks drinking glass.

It's just gorgeous weekend here, the sun is shining and it's warm.

It's time to head out for a walk.

Sunny days..

The sun is shining brightly today.

Signs of spring everywhere.

The leaves on the trees are starting to unfurl.

Flowers opening up after a long time in the cold earth.

A sunny, warm week is promised ahead.

Coming home..

They are flying on their way back to Vancouver.

I can't wait to see them.

I've been busy tidying up in the garden,

then taking time to take photos and play.

It was a lovley kind of day!

A fun day....

Being taken out for a late birthday lunch,

being gifted a marvellous orchid..

Thank you Shannon.

Finding a few thrifted treasures for my Cindy.

Cuttings and flowers from the garden.

Photos sent to me by Jeremy of my

darling Claire.

Gorgeous sunshine, great walk.

Oh my, what a beautiful day!

I took this photo of Claire, she moves so quickly,
so glad I was able to get this precious
one.

Garden clippings,

It always seems a shame to have to put

the garden to bed.

Trying to keep the summer memories alive in photos.

Styling them, playing with them,

capturing the beauty of even a single leaf.

Front patio renovation..

When we had Cookie and Pebbles,

our two Dalmatians, we want them to have a courtyard

where they could go outside and be safe.

Our little patio was filled with gravel for them and flowers in pots

for me.

It has been 6 years since they passed away.

This year we decided to put down pavers in that patio space.

16 pavers each weighing 88 lbs.

Jim and I completed it over a few days after we had hired

Wayne to remove and take way the dirt.

We have water lines to all the pots.

In time I will replace some of the plants,

but for now, it is done and I am very pleased

how it looks.

December in the garden...

December is a month of mostly green plants.

However, I was quite surprised to see that

some of the plants were still blooming.

The desert really does not

start to bloom until late Februray, early March.

Then the cacti are spectacular.

In the garden...

Yesterday we had a window replaced

in our bedroom.

It's a good thing that

our sealed windows have a lifetime guarantee.

I loved the way the garden looked

thru the opening.

I went outside to snip a few flowers and arrange

them on a mesquite round

that I was given last year.

This way, I have a chance to remember

what bloomed

in

November.
