Seattle, Whidby Island, San Juan Islands and Sidney....

What a lovely week away from the smoke and heat it was.
Being near or on the water is one of my favourite pastimes.
We had lots of opportunities to enjoy all of the above.
The air was clear and cool.
We are now back in West Kelowna,
cooler but still smoke lingers in the air.

Happy photos this week..

I hope some of these photos show you

the sense of joy I have when I take them.

I always try to find something a little different

that strikes my fancy.

Just a few things to love about Thailand....

The warmth of the air,

the sound of the ocean,

the beauty of a sunrise.

I love how it all unfolds during the day.

It happened this morning as I watched

these two local fishermen cast their

nets as the walked along the sand bar.

There was a quiet beauty to it all.

Settling in...

The tide was really high today and the ocean

looked angry.

The waves were forced up against the retaining wall

of the pool.

Still it was a very beautiful day,

just the right tempeture, with a breeze blowing off the ocean.

A perfect place to have a

catch up Jet lag nap listening to the ocean.

It's definitely fall here..

Back from Vancouver Island..it was great seeing our

friends and seeing family.

The seasons changing, our first frost here today.

Cooler morning, rainy days, shorter days and cooler nights.

The countdown to our holiday is only

a couple of weeks away.

Here are a few photos,

love the mist on the lakes on our drive down.

Countdown to our holiday in Thailand!
Celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary today!

Jim enjoying our walk and celebrating his birthday

on Oct 6.

It sure is a very good life and I am very very grateful.

Friday....

Having a massage on the beach.
Being lulled into a peaceful state by the ocean waves.
Having a talented Thai lady work knots out of your
shoulders and back.
There is only one word for this,
it's called
BLISS!

Ocean and beach...

We sleep with our balcony doors wide open letting

the ocean breeze keep is cool.

The sound of the waves crashing on the shore is

what I think I will miss the most

when we leave.

A close second will be walking the beach and collecting

shells and sea glass.

Day 7...Sunday

This mornings walk was so interesting

as there were a lot of young Panamanian families here.

They spend their weekends swimming in the ocean

as well as hanging under the shade in their

Palapyas.

It always amazes me to see how fearless

their young children are

in these ocean waves.

They learn to swim very early here.

Looking very fit and tanned indeed!
