Thai Cooking Class..

I was so happy to be able to take a

Thai Cooking Class.

Thanks to my friend Heather Renton, for suggesting Thai Cooking Course.

Beau and her team were amazing. I was picked up at 8:30 am, we then went to the Day Market to see what Beau and her team buy, then onto her beautiful Thai home for an amazing day of cooking and eating.

I will be trying out some of these wonderful recipes.

I also took some photos of the pieces

in her beautiful home where she holds the classes.

 

It's all about the food....

There are street carts on every corner.

They have fish, chicken, pork,

shrimp & lobsters.

They add little side cars to their motor cycles

and have a small

little charcoal grill to cook the food when you hail them down.

They are resourceful and hardworking people and they love their food!

It is no wonder that Thai food is loved

everywhere it is served.

They also make some great pineapple

mini pies and cake.

You see pineapple fields everywhere here.

I love how they showed how a pineapple grows

in their wheelbarrow.

They also makes very yummy cold drinks such as

iced lattes and smoothies.

 

Hua Hin Market..

This is where the food and other vendors

sell their produce, flowers, clothing, etc to both

private and public clients.

It is amazing to see rows and rows of fresh fish, fruits, flowers,

vegetables interspersed with toys, makeup, spices

and women sewing on old tredle machines.

I want to go back again and have a enjoy another look around.

I find it fascinating to see all their hard work

for sale right in front of you.

Cicada Market

This market was different than the night market.

The Cicada market had more hand made crafts, as well as as more interesting food stalls.

Since it was our first time there, once we got our tickets to pay for our food,

we walked around all the food stalls before choosing our food..

The array of fresh food was astonishing.

I couldn't stop taking photos, the good thing is that is is open

Fri, Sat, and Sunday from 4-11 each week.

We will have lots of chances to go back,

and it is a walkable distance from our condo.

My supper of chicken and vegetables cost

115 THBT = 4.50 Cdn

It was fresh and hot off the grill.

Jim had Pad Thai, 85 THBT = 3.60 Cdn,

it doesn't get much better than that.

A leisurely day....

Finally the tide was far enough out to go for

a walk along the sandy beach. The water is so warm.

I was tempted to go in for a swim, but that was before

I saw the big jelly fish.

I think I will stick to the beautiful pool for now.

We were at the night market tonight.

It is open every day.

The seafood, the little restaurants, the wonderful food,

maked it such an interesting evening.

Of course the sunrise was pretty spectacular.

The sunshine and memories...

In the next week or so we will be getting ready

to head out to our

winter home in Arizona.

We are hoping that the weather stays nice enough to be able to travel thru

Vancouver to see the kids before going down the

Washington/Oregon/California coastline.

Always dicey this time of the year with

rain, wind and fog.

The cruise, the food, the sunshine and the warmth are captured in these photo memories.

Summer time picnics

As August is half way over, our picnic time gets more precious..the water is so warm...little radio controlled float planes playing in the air and water, hearing the waves lapping on the shore, taking along yarn to crochet, having a nap...enjoying quiet time on a Sunday afternoon reading and relaxing with my sweetie.❤

Picnic Time...

We are so lucky to live in the Okanagan..there has been quite a few public beaches set aside for picnics, boat launching as well as swimming beaches for public use. We found another one on Canada Day to enjoy our picnic..do you have a favorite spot to take off and just enjoy your day?
