Christa and I had a good time as I read all the familiar old names out to her from that recipe book, most of them have passed on..but their memories linger with these tasty cakes and cookies!

A big ripe Peach..
This wonderful old recipe book belonged to my mom..it must be nearly 50 years old..it has been very well loved, pages almost worn out..it was produced to help raise money for the small community that we lived in..all the ladies contributed a recipe or two..this afternoon, I made the apple cake recipe, didn't have any sour cream, so I used what I had on hand..peach yogurt, no walnuts, so I used almonds..and instead of apples, I used this very delicious ripe peach..the verdict is in..it is absolutely wonderful, moist, flavorful and perfect for dessert...I love swapping out things and making due...do you ever do that?

I'm always making due with what I've got when it comes to cooking. The cake sounds good. I've got several cookbooks like that -- from small towns I lived in where some group was raising money for one reason or another. Hope your day is a good one. Tammy
This looks lovely...I am declaring this weekend a baking weekend. xoxo Hugs.
I could smell the aroma of that delicious cake when we were on Face Time ... my mouth was watering while you were eating it right in front of me .... !!!! It was so great hearing all the names in the valley ... still remember a lot of them ... funny ... I guess that makes us the old-timers now ... !! I am on the lookout for one of those recipe books ... !!! xoxo
