Happy Halloween!!!

Anything is possible on Halloween!!!

All from the pages of Martha Stewart.

When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near Halloween.

Christa's tough week...

These flowers are for Christa who lost her mother-in-law yesterday.

Sarnia and Christa will follow on Friday.
We send our love and special thoughts to you,
Christa and Mike
at this
time of your loss.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. ~From a headstone in Ireland

Finally, Shopping at San Tan Market Square with my Ya Ya's,
Sue and Shannon.
The Canadian have arrived and now we will have 6 months of fun!!

Some Fresh produce T-Shirt Logo's ..How cute are these?

A good place to hang your stuff!

Pebbles and Cookie are having a good rest after their long car ride, and are both
surprisingly well for old girles.

Pool time....

The essential water bottle.

Pool at the club house at 84 degrees

Work out room...notice it is almost empty!!! We would rather hang out at the pool when it is 98 degrees outside.

Jimmy swimming....super weather, and finally after arriving a week ago yesterday, things are almost all in place. It feels like home again.

Fall in Bull River...

Caroline took this photo and sent it to me...It will be one of her paintings I am sure. I do miss the fall colors, but not the cold and snow.
Thanks for sending it on!!!

Summer here...
Totally indulgent...a Pedicure, a necessity here in the dry good for your feet.
Spent most of the day twinning the Wandering Lilac Vine up the supports that Jim wired into the wall. These plants look like they are growning on can literally watch them climb up the wall.
Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.
~Sam Keen

Desert flowers blooming now...

Arizona Yellow Bells.

Golden Barrel Cactus

Orange Cape Honeysuckle.

This is what is blooming in our yard right now. More plants to be put in this year...right now I am out picking up leaves and tying up vines. Enjoying the warm AZ. climate.

My dear friend Christa...

Today was a sad day for my very dear girlfriend Christa.
Her dad had been sick for 5 weeks and passed away quietly and with dignity yesterday afternoon with her Mom, Christa's son, and Christa at his bed side.
We send you and your family our love and sympathy for your loss.
Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.

Having fun with the camera.

This is"Gerty" our Navigator. Did she ever come in handy. We gave her an Aussie accent, and it gave us some good chuckles on how she pronounced some of the names. You go Gerty.

We named after my sister Caroline, whose middle name is GERTRUDE!!! and now her secret is out!!

New bridge over the canyon on the Hoover will be a while before it is finished, but what a beautiful bridge it will be when it is finished. Then you won't be driving over the dam any more, so I am glad we had a chance to do that this time.

Looking up at the deck that is completed.

Thanks Cindy for bringing down your Organic Beer when you came to Westbank last time.We are enjoying here in AZ.

If you need Beer, buy this Beer from the Nelson Brewing Company..It can be now found in your local liquor store!!!

Here at Last

It was a long 3 days worth of driving 1559 miles from Westbank, BC to Queen Creek, AZ.

All of us made it in good spirits to a high temp of 98. The house was in great shape, all cleaned, fridge on with cold beer brought in front the cooler in the car.

Here are some of the scenes along the way.
Also: Happy Birthday Shirley in Vancouver. She will soon be living aboard her boat in False Creek...she promises photos to come..We hope your day was filled with love and happiness!!

Oct 17, 2008 Happy Birthday, Laurie

Happy Birthday Laurie.
We hope that Shane took you out for dinner somewhere lovely!!

Day 2 Ely, Neveda

We drove 400 miles from Caldwell, Idaho, to Ely, Nevada today.
Here are the blades that we saw driving by. Wow, where they ever long.

Pebbles having a nap after a hard night of coughing and panting...She seems to be better today on the drive. Cookie just slept nearly all the way, just opened her eyes to eat and go for a quick walk.

Lunch on the run near a green space at Jackpot, Nevada.

Today it was really warm nearly all the way, here at Ely today it is 70 degress at 6300 feet at 4:00.

Tomorrow we will be in Queen Creek, AZ.

Probably another 600 miles tomorrow.

Photos from Day 1.

Leaving Westbank early yesterday. It stayed dark until Penticton.

Doughnuts at Tim Horton's. None were harmed by taking this photo.
Muffins and Bagels were bought!

Jimmy heading to the car with our coffee.

Caldwell, Idaho...

Arrived here in Caldwell, Idaho, just north of Boise at 4:30 PDT but it was 5:30 here as we are now on MDT...Great drive, left at 5:45 am, went thru the border with out a glitch, then a wonderful sunny 559 miles of driving. It was a fun to share the driving and then Jim's hip didn't bother him so much.
The dogs were great, we took about an extra 1 1/2 to eat and walk the dogs...hopefully I will be able to download a few pictures I took.
Gas prices ranged from $3.53 per gallon to $2.99...
We saw about 12 fantastic wind turbine blades being transported on these massive trucks, it was really impressive. As well, we saw potatoes, corn and a ton of onions being trucked all over.
More later, heading out to have a bite to eat.

We are Off!!

Thanks to all of you that called, e-mailed and wished us a safe trip!!! Heading out the door..
It is really cool here this morning. We had a clear night, a full moom and frost. Time to head south to warmer temps.

Caroline's Art Work...

This is my sister Caroline's newest art that she is working on. The Owl and the Blue Jay are painted on rocks while the Border Collie (not finished yet) is on canvas..What a talent she is.
We leave at 5:30 tomorrow....can hardly believe that it has come so quickly.
I am hoping that we will have Internet at the hotels where we are staying while we travel, so I will try to keep up these post in the evening.!!
Thanks for everyone's good wishes for a safe journey!!!

Saying good-bye...

The hardest part about heading south is leaving our family and friends.
However, with the invention of the telephone, cell phone, Internet and plain old fashioned letter is possible to stay in touch.
One of my 2 favourite sisters...Caroline...to0k this photo of Bull Mountain.
We looked out at this peak everyday where we grew up in Bull River.
This was sent as a good bye card...on her computer, no less.
Thanks Caroline, love this photo that you took from
The Bull River Guest Ranch.
On an other special note:
Happy Birthday Carman!!!
We hope that you are enjoying the sunshine in Palm Springs!!

At the Farmer's Market.

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came -
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
~George Cooper, "October's Party"

Our Anniversary...

Celebrating 19 years!!!!!
Let's hope we have many more happy anniversaries to share!!!
Enjoying a glass of Pinot Gris at Mission Hill this summer!!!
Sharing this special day with our friends Bob and Sue McLure who celebrate 41 years today as well.

Infatuation is when you think he's as sexy as Robert Redford, as smart as Henry Kissinger, as noble as Ralph Nader, as funny as Woody Allen, and as athletic as Jimmy Conners. Love is when you realize that he's as sexy as Woody Allen, as smart as Jimmy Connors, as funny as Ralph Nader, as athletic as Henry Kissinger and nothing like Robert Redford - but you'll take him anyway.

Our Aussie son-in-law, Shane
Happy Birthday Shane, what a great guy you are and we are so happy that you are our son-in-law!!!!
