"Frozen"

For the last 3 years,

Julie has taken Claire to

"Disney on Ice"

Claire loves Elsa in Frozen and sings

"Let it Go" in her adorable voice.

Julie grew up competitively figure skating up to the

BC Figure Skating Championships.

A wonderful path for Claire to follow is that is what she wants to do.

Too early to tell, but she sure loves going to see

them skate.

More crafting and having fun...

Celebrating last night with a bottle of

Champagne,

just because we had one on hand.

Made some cookies and re-arranged my carved

Santa's and Mountain Men.

Taught a young friend some crafting

tricks and tips.

It has been a very good day.

Dave Francis from Castlegsr, BC.

Cindy and I started to collect them years ago.

I know how glad we both are to have these charming treasures.

Dave carved this one especially

You can see and buy his carvings

but plan to put your order in early.

I keep these carvings out all year long.

My fishing family...

My brother Werner

(one of my 4 brothers I have and love)

lives full time in Cabo with his beautiful and sweet wife Dana.

My sister Evelyne

(one of my 2 sisters I have and love)

spends 4 months of the year there with her husband Richard.

Many of their friends all have winter homes in Cabo.

Fishing is high on their list of fun things to do.

Just look at what Richard reeled in and Ev's

story that goes with it!

410 lb Marlin. Now this is a true fish story!,

This is from Ev,

Hi Guys

Just had to send these photos. We were out on Matt's boat today and we caught a striped marlin, lost a sailfish then Richard caught a 400 + or minus 5 lb. black Marlin. Took about 1 1/2 hrs to bring in and right when he was at the boat, we are pretty sure he got hit by a shark and then went into the prop. Unfortunately it killed the fish, which we would have released but I guess there will be a lot of families eating Marlin tonite. He is about 9 feet long and 5 feet around the middle. Lots of good fish! Great day and wish you were all here!

Baked...

Jim has a sweet tooth

and I love to cook more than bake.

But occasionally I get totally inspired and bake.

He loves cinnamon buns,

he will drive miles for one of these tasty treats.

Found a wonderful new recipe that was so easy to make.

The cinnamon buns were, are delicious.

I will be making these again.

Claire's letter to Santa.

Claire will be 5 on December 29th.

I love that Julie spends so much time with her

making sure her letter to Santa Claus

is written in her own hand writing.

Apparently a Unicorn is high on her list.

Having a wonderful weekend...

Making cards, yarn on needles, foraging greenery on our walks,

re-arranging the craft room.

Having dough rising to make some bread.

Listening to music.

Feeling content and happy.

Happy Birthday to my favourite sister

Evelyne in Cabo.

Know you are loving being in your winter home.

Ice wine picking time...

With frost on the roofs,

as well as steam rising from the lake,

it looks like the remaining grapes left on the vines

will be picked for ice wine on Wednesday.

They must be picked and kept at -10 or more.

If the tempeture rising above -10 while being picked, then the wine must be labelled

"Late Harvest" and the price is

considerably less than "Ice Wine."

They will be picking Ice Wine at

Misson Hill Estate Winery,

as seen from our deck.
