Happy New Year..

We celebrated the last hours of 2015 sitting

by the beach, overlooking the ocean

watching this amazing one hour fireworks display.

Drank some champagne and marvelled at the music, the sounds

of ocean and what a wonderful year it has been.

Wishing our family and dear friends a

Happy New Year!

High Tea at the Centara Inn

This used to be the old railway hotel.

It has been meticulously updated and well cared for.

It has the most amazing topieries that are grown and pruned here

on the grounds and decorated with fairy lights.

The high tea was wonderful, sharing it with friends who

introduced us to this place, was a bonus.

Happy 5th birthday, sweet Claire

Snow fell in Vancouver in time for

Claire to celebrate her 5th birthday.

I am so happy that Jeremy and Julie love the outdoors at all times of the year and have instilled love that with Claire.

Happy birthday to our sweet little girl.

You are our hearts delight.

Lunch and Laundry...

It is wonderful to take you laundry to the laundress

and the next day you get

all of your clothes back, laundered, folded and ironed.

Jim could get used to that.

Then out to avenue 88 for lunch or dinner

I had the Indian Lamb Marsala, (oh my it was delicious)

Jim had a chicken kabob plate and an ice cream Sunday for dessert.

I had the wonderful mango sticky rice.

Hua Hin Lantern Festival..

The Cicada Market was filled with amazing lanterns

hung in trees and big ones all around the grounds.

It is an wonderful sight to see.

The food they serve is varied and simply the best cooked

fresh right in front of you.

Claire's Christmas..

Claire spent this Christmas in Victoria with Julie's family.

Together with Julie's parents, her brother and his wife,

they had a very special guest, Julie's Nana who is 102.

I am so glad Claire has this as her heritage and family tradition.

Jeremy and Julie included us by streaming videos so we could see

Claire open her gifts live.

What a happy occasion this was for the whole family.

Making new Christmas Traditions...

Being away from home means being open to new ways of celebrating the holidays.

It is Christmas Day here in Hua Hin, Thailand.

I was up early to enjoy the quiet that surrounds us in the mornings.

Our friends Sharon and Graham

made us these wonderful cakes and cookies for Christmas.

This Christmas has been different and perfectly lovely in it's own way.

Merry Christmas to our family and dear friends.

Christmas breakfast as well as a gift of hand made crocheted

pot holders from my new Norweigan friend,

Mona.

Christmas Eve Day...

We were invited with friends for a traditional

Christmas Dinner,

complete with turkey and all the trimmings.

Delicious!

Santa rolled in on a motor bike much to the delight

of the crowd of families with smaller children.

The food, the atmosphere and meeting all kinds of new

people was wonderful.

Before dinner we went for a walk in the fishing village

that is close to us,

Takiab.

Here are a few photos I took along the way.
