Making new Christmas Traditions...

Being away from home means being open to new ways of celebrating the holidays.

It is Christmas Day here in Hua Hin, Thailand.

I was up early to enjoy the quiet that surrounds us in the mornings.

Our friends Sharon and Graham

made us these wonderful cakes and cookies for Christmas.

This Christmas has been different and perfectly lovely in it's own way.

Merry Christmas to our family and dear friends.

Christmas breakfast as well as a gift of hand made crocheted

pot holders from my new Norweigan friend,

Mona.

More crafting and having fun...

Celebrating last night with a bottle of

Champagne,

just because we had one on hand.

Made some cookies and re-arranged my carved

Santa's and Mountain Men.

Taught a young friend some crafting

tricks and tips.

It has been a very good day.

Cookies for Claire...

I found the perfect box in my craftroom

for Claire's cookies and cards.

It already had a scalloped edge,

I added some pretty tape

her address and off into the mail it went.

I hope Jeremy and Julie take some photos when she opens it.

Now she will have a treat as well

as a note from me each week until April 2.

Cookies....

These are simply good cookies,

easy to make,

even easier to enjoy with a glass of milk.

You can find the printable recipe here

I made a few changes, I used butter,

added another cup of raisins

and used slivered almonds because I had them on hand.

Tabletop Christmas...

Most of my ornaments are packed away in boxes.

I decided that even for the two weeks we are still here in Arizona,

I would create a little Christmas tabletop.

Just enough of a reminder to bring us of the joy of season.
