These past few days...

Almost all of our days are just good,

they are easy and they flow one into another.

Here are a few of the photos that

I really enjoyed taking this week.

Incredibly big waves hitting the retaining

wall at our beach.

I was far enough back that none of the water hit my

IPad, but it did make for a good photo!

Busy weekend...

There are so many things to do here in Hua Hin.

Some days are filled very quickly,

others just gradually unfold.

We did have a very good weekend exploring parts of downtown

we hadn't been to before.

First rays of sunshine...

Sunrise.

My favourite time of day.

There is nothing quite like the feeling of the first rays of sunshine

hitting your face.

Cicada Market

One of the special pleasures we enjoy here every weekend is the

"Cicada Market"

It's within a 5 minute walk from our condo.

Amazing food, music, arts and crafts.

This market is run and organized by the Hyatt Resort

and is open every Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

This years theme for the

"Lantern Festival"

is Horses.

The beaches here in Hua Hin have horses available to ride.

The horses and riders are also used as beach volunteers with that keep an eye on things that are happening up and down our beach area.

They add such an

interesting dimension to our beach scene.

Here are some of these amazing almost life size ponies as lanterns.

Another week....

Sometimes it's hard to keep track of time.

Our days drift one into another.

We meet new people from around the world, we have made new friends with a couple

who just live 20 minutes from us in West Kelowna.

We have friends from Kelowna arriving

on Tuesday,

they are renting a condo here for a month on our recommendation.

Jim had a rough week with his flu/cold/cough.

Happy to report he is much better and regaining his energy.

The rain has stopped and we are back in the sunshine and warmth.

I have been knitting a few rows,

soon my scarf will be done.

I get new photos and talk to Claire every

week..her two front teeth

are almost falling out.

I know we are very fortunate to live this

lovely life enjoying our 4 months in Hua Hin, Thailand.

Back to Hua Hin,

For those of you who travel know,

traveling is not for the faint of heart.

Being on time, catching a Tuk Tuk, a taxi, a bus, a train, a plane.

Traveling with just your carry on luggage,

don't forget your passport, your visa, your wallet,

small amounts of money in that countries currency

your cell phone chargers...

If you are in another country, sometimes there is a language barrier,

often different customs and manners

are used.

I find you need to travel with an open mind.

We travel because we don't want to see the same scenery,

customs, people and food we enjoy at home.

That being said, coming back to Thailand from Malaysia

was like coming home.

It just feels so good here.

In spite of the torrential rain we have had these past few days,

the flooding devastation south of us,

we are safe and dry.

Sunny days are ahead.

I was even able to get in a beach walk.

Of course, we always see the dreaded jelly fish stranded on the beach.

Their venom has such a wallop!

I am not sure if even the sea gulls will eat them?

But apparently,

Leatherback Turtles do!!

Our time away to Kuala Lumpur..

Another check mark off on our bucket list.

The Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur....It was all fabulous, both the skybridge then up to the 86th floor where they have the Observation Deck.

I felt a bit giddy looking back down to earth.

The height didn't affect Jim at all.

They have a beautiful big park at one end of the Towers and a huge shopping Mall that is very high end.

It was such a contrast.

Here are a few of my photos.

Just as we were leaving,

they were just starting to set up with

Chinese New Years.
