Ethel...

I am pleased to introduce you to my new softie..Ethel...angora cuddly soft with a chenille front..she has a patch on her tummy....will be taking her to visit Claire in 2 weeks...I hope it will be love at first sight.❤



This is Mabel..my dear friend Frosso knitted her....what a talent she is...I think it only took her a day to have her out grazing in the field❤

Cindy sent me this photo of her little Merganser family swimming in front of their widely expanded beachfront Cabana..water still rising...aren't they just the cutest?


Soon she will have to swim to the Cabana..we are hoping the water will start to go back down and will be replaced with more sand❤thanks for the photo Cindy.

Harvesting the Lavendar

Just a few sprigs will fill a room with such a lovely scent...even though we have had so much rain, the Lavendar is blooming and thriving..drying them to enjoy all winter long❤

Craft Room love..

Tidying up my craft room unearthed some little treasures...I do love this wonderful space..once again everything is in it's place...but the whole idea of this room is to be creative, to play, to dream, to imagine what I can do and then just do it! It sometimes is a very messy process, but at the end of the day I can simply close the door and no one sees the mess..❤ how good is that?

Just a few Happy Birds...

I made a few more "birdies" for Claire..I call these my Happy birds..sounds just so much better than Angry birds..agreed? It is a great way to use up some wool, but what a fun package tie this would be for a toddler...soft and sweet.❤Claire loves hers as they are light enough for her to throw..and the don't damage anything.

Mud Frog Studio

The girls have been busy making lots of pottery. These are some of their newest pieces. They call these their living birdhouses. Caroline and Evelyne designed them so that they could have planted roofs. They even thought about putting the drain holes in the roof so that when the plants had to be watered it wouldn't drain into the bird houses. I know that I will be putting my order in for several of these new living birdhouses that they have been creating. Check out the rest of their collection Here. The platter with the bear on it is a collaboration between Karen, one the other Mud Frogs and my sister Caroline. I think that this is one of the most special pieces I have seen in their collection.

High Water

The water in Nelson at Cindy and Tim's place is the highest it has been for nearly 30 years..I wondered how Cindy had gotten this photo? had she walked on water, did she row her boat out..nay nay I say...look at the bottom photos..a crafty solution was found...they usually have sand passed the 3rd wharf......the good news is the water went down by an inch!

Finally...some sunshine...

The roses and the lavender have just burst open with a day or so of sun...does this mean that the summer sunshine might finally be here?

First lavender.....

Today I cut the first of my lavender..the fragrance fills the living room with the scent of summer...this little horse hair nest was a gift from mother about 20 years...it is such a sweet reminder of her love and kindness..I miss her everyday.

Happiness and Joy!

Heading back home today...I had such a wonderful time...staying with Jeremy, Julie and Claire..just being part of their lives for the weekend...meeting Robert, Frosso's new husband...hadn't seen him for 25 years...meeting up with a wonderful new friend Koralee from Bluebird Notes. .. having a truly grateful heart❤

The Vancouver Aquarium

It was a wonderful way to spend Father's Day...Claire took here Daddy and Mommy to the aquarium...the beluga whales were a huge hit as she sang Baby Beluga every time she saw one swim by...the penguins as well as the otters utterly charmed her as well...Frosso and I met them there to enjoy the morning together....

Sweetness

Until you are an Oma, ( grandma, nana,) or what ever name your grandchild calls you..I don't believe you know how your heartstrings will be tugged at..this is pure joy...the happiness in their eyes when they recognize you and willingly run to see you...this is my Claire...17 1/2 months old❤...I won't go on and on about how sweet and smart she is..you can see it for yourself in her photos!

A few gifts for Claire

I made Claire a couple of skirts..one from a vintage pillows slip, another from a fabric valance..love them and hope she will as well...Christa crocheted her the little purse..I made a few bracelets for her to try on and only wear while in my care...a few birds pompoms...can not wait to hold her in my arms.

Lunch on the run

I love food..preparing it, reading about it, cooking it and the best part...enjoying it..my go to lunch is an egg salad sandwich...served on a bread board with a few gherkins, a nice glass of juice or milk, a pretty napkin and I am good to go until supper time...what is your go to lunch?

On my blackboard..

Each week I try to write something inspiring on the blackboard in my craft room...this small task makes me feel grateful and joyful...just like a kid, I love using colored chalk!

For the love of a dog

This is Piper, he is our friend Andrea's dog..At 8 months old he is a charmer, he is calm, yet frisky but very quiet..( a most unusual Sheltie trait)..We had 2 Shelties, Buffy and Sable..then 2 Dalmatians,..Cookie and Pebbles...so glad every chance we get to babysit or just have a dog come for a visit❤

Oh, these old bones aren't used to doing a lot of gardening all at one time anymore.....there was a time when I was younger that I would be in the garden all day..the joy and love for gardening is still there....just in a much smaller scale.

Resturant Ware

Cindy was editing some of the colors of her restaurant ware and she gifted me these pieces..or rather I saw a box of " heading to the thrift shop" and she offered them to me! I was in restaurant ware heaven...not sure where they will reside in my cupboards yet, but no worries..a space will be found..
They are being washed as we speak and this afternoon they will have a new home❤ Thank you my Cindy!
