Each week I write Claire a little note.
She has a mail box in her bedroom where Jeremy and Julie
put her letters in.
I add stickers, ribbons and little treats inside each card.
I always put in a toonie.
As we will be gone for 3 months, I have made enough cards
until April 2, giving me a month
so that I don't have to worry about missing
a note to her.
She gets to spend $1.00 and saves the other $1.00 for charity.
This time I will mail the whole box of letters to as well
as some chocolate chip cookies.
I know how much she looks forward to
getting her mail.
These are some of the paper cut out dolls I will send in the
package as well.
My friend Cindy saved them all for me when Mary Englebriet
had a magazine.

You are the best grandma ever! :) What a truly wonderful gift for Claire, a handwritten note. And to teach her to receive and give back at the same time. Lovely!
What a nice idea , Claire will love that parcel.

This is such a sweet idea for Claire! She will enjoy opening your letters every day while you are away. They are so prettily done. I love the paper dolls and remember playing with them as a little girl.
This is such a lovely idea Dagmar - Claire will be so excited to find your artistic letters in her bedroom mail box!!
She will always think of you as her real life angel - you do so much for her.
I've just replied to your welcome email, thank you. What a lovely surprise to find your wonderful attachment!
Bon Voyage

I know Claire loves receiving mail from Oma. I think it is a wonderful way for her to actually get little gifts thru the "real" mail. She will love getting those little cut-out dolls. I can't wait to print out a few for my grandchildren. xoxo
