Sunday picnic and hike...

I love unexpected pleasant surprises.

Like seeing a huge full curl

Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep

that was close enough to touch thru our car window.

A small herd of young ones doing well.

It was a fabulous day to enjoy the drive on this scenic and winding road.

the past month.

Happy Weekend.

The garden survived...

It was literally one of the hottest summer here in

Arizona.

Record high tempetures, major dust storms

as well torrential rains.

In our development,

the wind uprooted many well established

large trees.

We have a walled garden. Safely sheltered from

the more brutal elements.

The garden is lush and green,

it is amazing how little water we use because we planted many

native and desert plants.

It was a wise move more than 7 summers ago

when we bought and had our

home built.

My banners have become faded,

however, they still dance happily in the breeze.

Getting ready....

This week I have spent my time well, tidying up the house,

the outdoor pots, cutting back any perennials,

putting the garden to rest as we are getting ready to head to

Arizona for the winter,

on Saturday.

Usually by this time we would have been there already.Going a bit later has given us more time to enjoy these last few weeks of October.

It used to feel strange not seeing all our personal stuff for nearly 6 months, but because we have another home, different friends,

it is always an adventure.

We take a couple days to drive there, as it is 1662 miles between our two homes. We always try to take a different route,

but after 10 years, we know most of the roads quite well.

We are always in the lookout to see something we might have missed in previous trips.

Warm and wonderful weekend...

Record highs all over BC.

Happy to enjoy being outside, finishing up cleaning up the outside

planters and flower pots.

Claire spent a sunny afternoon at

Art Knapps Garden Centre

enjoying the rides.

She sent me a sweet little emojis texts.

Love this little girl!

My love for travel....

I collect globes to satisfy my love
for
travelling.

Thanks to my Cindy for

her generosity

over the years in helping me

increase

my collection.

Crafting.....

A quiet day to read some crafting books
as well as crochet a rock.
I love how quickly theses small projects come together.
Place several together, or simply place
one in a birds nest as I did.
Sweet and simple

Have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Birthday to my dear friend Shirley

currently trekking in Bhutan.

Colors of Fall...

The days are getting shorter.
The sun rises later.
All the deciduous trees have changed their colors
and are losing their leaves.
There are crisp apples at the Farmers Markets
as well as at the roadside stands.
Apple pies to be baked,
birthdays to be celebrated.
The air is much cooler on our walks.
Fall is here in the Okanagan.

Little gifts...

I make lots of bracelets.

I wear 5 or 6 at a time,

I mix and match them with my gold ones,

diamond ones as well as my

sapphire ones.

Sometimes I give them away.

They are lovely, small, portable & happy gifts.

Gifts of my heart and made by hand.

These can be worn as necklaces or bracelets.
