Pedicure...
Summer here...
Totally indulgent...a Pedicure, a necessity here in the dry desert...so good for your feet.
Spent most of the day twinning the Wandering Lilac Vine up the supports that Jim wired into the wall. These plants look like they are growning on steriods..you can literally watch them climb up the wall.

My dear friend Christa...
Today was a sad day for my very dear girlfriend Christa.
Her dad had been sick for 5 weeks and passed away quietly and with dignity yesterday afternoon with her Mom, Christa's son, and Christa at his bed side.
We send you and your family our love and sympathy for your loss.
````````````````
Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.
This is"Gerty" our Navigator. Did she ever come in handy. We gave her an Aussie accent, and it gave us some good chuckles on how she pronounced some of the names. You go Gerty.
We named after my sister Caroline, whose middle name is GERTRUDE!!! and now her secret is out!!
Here are the blades that we saw driving by. Wow, where they ever long.
Pebbles having a nap after a hard night of coughing and panting...She seems to be better today on the drive. Cookie just slept nearly all the way, just opened her eyes to eat and go for a quick walk.
Lunch on the run near a green space at Jackpot, Nevada.
Today it was really warm nearly all the way, here at Ely today it is 70 degress at 6300 feet at 4:00.
Caldwell, Idaho...
Arrived here in Caldwell, Idaho, just north of Boise at 4:30 PDT but it was 5:30 here as we are now on MDT...Great drive, left at 5:45 am, went thru the border with out a glitch, then a wonderful sunny 559 miles of driving. It was a fun to share the driving and then Jim's hip didn't bother him so much.
The dogs were great, we took about an extra 1 1/2 to eat and walk the dogs...hopefully I will be able to download a few pictures I took.
Gas prices ranged from $3.53 per gallon to $2.99...
We saw about 12 fantastic wind turbine blades being transported on these massive trucks, it was really impressive. As well, we saw potatoes, corn and a ton of onions being trucked all over.
More later, heading out to have a bite to eat.
We are Off!!
Thanks to all of you that called, e-mailed and wished us a safe trip!!! Heading out the door..
It is really cool here this morning. We had a clear night, a full moom and frost. Time to head south to warmer temps.
Caroline's Art Work...
This is my sister Caroline's newest art that she is working on. The Owl and the Blue Jay are painted on rocks while the Border Collie (not finished yet) is on canvas..What a talent she is.
We leave at 5:30 tomorrow....can hardly believe that it has come so quickly.
I am hoping that we will have Internet at the hotels where we are staying while we travel, so I will try to keep up these post in the evening.!!
Thanks for everyone's good wishes for a safe journey!!!
Saying good-bye...
The hardest part about heading south is leaving our family and friends.
However, with the invention of the telephone, cell phone, Internet and plain old fashioned letter writing...it is possible to stay in touch.
One of my 2 favourite sisters...Caroline...to0k this photo of Bull Mountain.
We looked out at this peak everyday where we grew up in Bull River.
This was sent as a good bye card...on her computer, no less.
Thanks Caroline, love this photo that you took from
The Bull River Guest Ranch.
At the Farmer's Market. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came -
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
Infatuation is when you think he's as sexy as Robert Redford, as smart as Henry Kissinger, as noble as Ralph Nader, as funny as Woody Allen, and as athletic as Jimmy Conners. Love is when you realize that he's as sexy as Woody Allen, as smart as Jimmy Connors, as funny as Ralph Nader, as athletic as Henry Kissinger and nothing like Robert Redford - but you'll take him anyway.
