I am addicted to searching for sea glass and shells...

The proof is in these photos!
I love, love looking for sea glass and shells.
The time just seems to slip away.
I reluctantly head back for
a swim in the pool
as I don't want to get too much sun!

Solitude...

There is nothing I like more

than the early morning

quiet. Up before anyone else,

enjoying watching the darkness turn into light.

For a new day to begin.

Cleaning up....picking up....

Even in such a beautiful place as the Bahai

here in Gorgona, Panama,

there are problems.

The garbage is careless thrown out

of the car window or left at the beach without a thought of the damage it can do

as well as how unsightly it is.

Three of us met

@7:00 am

to pick up the garbage on the short road leading into to Bahai.

Nico, our hard working caretaker was able to understand

that we needed three garbage bags.

("Nico, puede usted por favor me conseguir tres bolsas de basura de plástico".)

We filled them all.

Patrick, Elizabeth and I got to have a visit with Bahai dog.

Elizabeth rescued her, had her spayed and took care of her Vet bills.

She now lives at the guard house, a bit cautious but looking at

Elizabeth with love and thanks..

We all can make a difference in our own small ways.

Crocheting...

It is always fun to make something

out of just string and shells.

I love finding shells with holes in them,

a ready made ornament. Add a bit of

string, viola, a necklace

is made.

Poolside gifts.

Trash and Treasures....

It was a wonderful day to collect sea glass.

I think these are the most

pieces I have found on a single walk.

Jim went out for most of the morning and I did our long walk.

The tide was almost at its lowest level,

the waves were bringing in new shells and glass!

I had a plastic bag with me and was able to collect

quite a bit of garbage as well.

The good!

The bad and the ugly!

This jelly fish was about 6 inches across!

Endless entertainment...

There is always something happening on this beach.

Lost flip flops, shore birds looking for food,

kayakers padding the surf,

Love letters written in the sand.

Endless enjoyment.

And just because this is a fabulous photo of my handsome brother Werner (L)
and brother in law, Richard (kneeling down) with a friend
and their 206.5 lb Tuna!
In the Baja yesterday!

Crafting, journalling...

Back to writing in my journal and doing a bit of crafting after

a weeks absence.

It is really rewarding to write down my thoughts

that are just mine alone.

Sitting at the pool in the early morning is a lovely

way to start my day.

Writing in my journal makes the day or week that has just

gone by more seem to relavent.

I bought a new wooden bowl in El Valle to compliment

the one I bought last year. It is wonderful for holding my

crochet bracelets and necklaces.

It quickly became my favorite bowl.

My new bowl!

The bowl that I bought last year.

Week 2...

The days have fallen into a rhythm already.

Up at 5:30 to watch the sunrise.

Coffee on the balcony.

Watching Nico clean the pools.

A long walk on the beach.

Meeting all kinds of dogs with their human kind.

Swim and dry off.

Up to the condo to have another coffee and breakfast.

Then the earnest fun begins.

Swimming laps, reading, meetings friends, meeting new people.

Surprisingly enough, most are Canadians.

Occasionally tidying up and I even had time to crochet a necklace.

Then a glass of wine around 5:00

Oh, this is a good life.

Enjoying the quiet of the weekdays.
