Printing out my cards..

I get heavy water color paper,

cut them into a 6x4 size,

then send my vintage postcard photos thru the printer.

I made

"Mary riding a Burro"

as a Christmas card in 1981.

I have loved crafting for a long long time.

Weekend pleasures...

The weather has been so unpredictable.

We have always been away the month of November,

it is an interesting transition month.

We have had days of rain, wind and overcast conditions,

interspersed with a day or two of glorious sunshine.

It's a good thing to have lots of things to do.

I am very glad we have an adventure ahead of us

that promises lots of sunny days.

Crafting for Claire...

Each week I write Claire a little note.

She has a mail box in her bedroom where Jeremy and Julie

put her letters in.

I add stickers, ribbons and little treats inside each card.

I always put in a toonie.

As we will be gone for 3 months, I have made enough cards

until April 2, giving me a month

so that I don't have to worry about missing

a note to her.

She gets to spend $1.00 and saves the other $1.00 for charity.

This time I will mail the whole box of letters to as well

as some chocolate chip cookies.

I know how much she looks forward to

getting her mail.

These are some of the paper cut out dolls I will send in the
package as well.
My friend Cindy saved them all for me when Mary Englebriet
had a magazine.

Crafts to take along..

I always take along a few crafty things to make

when we are away.

I will be taking a couple of classes.

A cooking class or two in Hua Hin

as well as a week long silversmith course in Chiang Mai.

I am taking along some of my Panamaian sea glass

for the jewelry course.

A coloring book, pencil crayons, journal,

crochet hooks,

some yarn as well as a couple of

little fox masks to make.

I think I am all set to have

some fun and learn lots of new things.

All this will fit neatly in my backpack.

Between sightseeing, reading, crafting and meeting up with

old and new friends,

I know we

are going to have a wonderful adventure.

Good morning...

How wonderful to be greeted by such a spectacular

sunrise.

This is why I get up early.

Getting packed....

We will be traveling to Thailand for 3 months, leaving in 3 weeks.

I only wanted to take carry on luggage

and surprisingly I have convinced Jim on the idea

as well.

It has really made me realize how much you can fit in a bag and how much you really don't need to take along.

We did talk to quite a few of our traveling friends who do it the same way.

There are wonderful travel blogs as to what really works out there for the long haul.

They have been a valuable reference source.

Here are a few of the things we will use, as well as some of these sights we will want to see.

Cabin Max carry on wheeled backpack,

Eagle Creek packing cubes,

PacSafe.

Both Jim and I will also have a small backpack we have

used for years hiking.

I will carry my Travelon travel purse/bag in my backpack

and take it for day use. It has many anti theft features

which will keep our credit cards and passport safe.

It was a birthday gift from Jim.

A few things I have been doing....

Back in my craft room for short bursts of energy.

I am enjoying all the creative

part of crafting.

Trying to find the correct light to take good photographs.

Here are a few of the little things I have used or

made and taken photos of.

Definatley Lost..

I saw these two white streaks running by on the

Golf Course.

It seemed strange to see two dogs running past our house

I went out to the deck and I whistled for them.

Surprisingly, they turned around and came back,

hopped through the fence and came to the back door on the lower level.

The female Great Pyreness dog was dragging a huge thick chain.

Both of the dogs didn't have any identification tags.

Her brother must of slipped out of his collar.

They were both thirsty and very hungry.

I got them water and went over to our neighbours to borrow some dog food.

They were quite comfortable in the house.

Resting on the rug or trying to sit with me in my chair.

We called the SPCA and they told us to take the dogs to the

Regional District Animal Control Office.

On the drive to downtown Kelowna,

they were beat and slept in the back of our SUV.

When we got there, they had quite a few dogs that had been

terrified from the fireworks on Halloween night.

We left the two dogs there and hoping that they will be

returned to their human parents as soon as possible.

I will call them tomorrow to see how the dogs made out.

Happy Birthday, Julie

To my favorite and only daughter-in-law,

Happy, Happy Birthday,

Julie!

Jeremy and Claire are both so lucky to have

you be in their lives.
